Cambridge Texts in the History of Philosophy synopsis
The four short works were published in inappropriate reflections by Nietzsche between 1873 and 1876. They deal with such broad topics as the relationship between popular and real culture, cultural reform strategies, the task of philosophy, the nature of education, and the relationship between art, science and life.
It also includes Nietzsche's earlier statement of his self-understanding of humanity as an "endless" process. As Daniel Brzezali shows in his introduction to this new edition of R.
C. The first four texts are basic documents to understand the evolution of Nietzsche's thought and clearly foresee many of his recent writings.
Nietzsche himself was always proud of his sudden thought and believed to provide valuable evidence that he had "become and surpassed himself" and constituted a "general pledge" about his distinguished mission as a philosopher.
