Active English is a series of activity books for chapters 1 through 6 based largely on text types. What makes unique English unique is the special focus on critical and visual literacy.

Selected text excerpts are from a variety of mixed text types, both literary and non-literary. The structure and features of each type of text are enhanced in each module, leading to independent reading and writing.

In each module, all language skills are focused on exercises in grammar and spelling. There are also activities to encourage teachers to start a full discussion.

At the end of each unit, there are estimated and sometimes difficult extension tasks based on the type of text displayed in each unit.
