Christianity and Party Politics synopsis

Christianity and the Politics Party aim to discuss and evaluate the contemporary relationship between party and religion politics. The book focuses on the important role of the Church in both electoral politics and the formulation of public policy in the 21st century. He argues that, contrary to the generally accepted argument of secularization in Europe, religion still has strong influence, particularly in British politics. .

Stephen begins by examining the fundamentals of electoral and party behavior, how religious affiliation has traditionally influenced the way people choose to vote, and how recent surveys have suggested that they should continue to do so. Going to discuss how this affects the behavior of party politicians, the role of the Christian Church as a group of interests is analyzed; to what extent do these major social institutions continue to influence policy decisions? By expanding debate in the international context, the work assesses how the relationship between party and religion policies has been influenced by global factors, such as the "war on terror".

This discussion was developed through an analysis of influences on the way in which Christian groups choose to lobby and influence policy. Stephen suggests that increased European integration forces Christian groups to become more active in their approach, to combat the decline in the more "spontaneous" domestic influence they previously enjoyed.

As to the impact of US policy, it is analyzed whether the tactics of the more pluralistic American system adopted by church leaders elsewhere? To make a valuable and long-term contribution to this area, this work will provide readers with a detailed knowledge of how the worlds of politics and religion interact.
