Culture and Schooling synopsis
The essence of this book is to help teachers improve their educational practice in the ever-changing cultural contexts of school and society. Across cultural dimensions such as diversity and monotheism.
Individual and collective groups are emerging as key focus areas for discussion. Wherever possible, bridges are built between relevant cultural research on the one hand, and their impact on improving learning / teaching, evaluation, school management, classrooms, school education and society on the other.
The bridge building also extends to ways of training teachers to meet the challenges of cultural diversity in multicultural classrooms. The approach of this book is to provide an eclectic review of relevant research in cross cultural fields and to make practical suggestions as to how this research can improve activities such as teaching and learning.
Many case study materials are used from both developing and developed societies, and the experience gained by the author as a teaching teacher in Britain and many Asian and African countries. In addition, there are examples of case studies from Australia, the United States of America and some Latin American countries, such as Peru and Brazil.
Culture and education: Building bridges between research, Praxis, and professionalism is a primary source of educational and cultural psychologists, teachers, educators, child guidance specialists, and child care professionals working in the classroom environment.
