This report explains the objectives and developments of energy efficiency in five countries in the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS): Cambodia, the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. The GMS countries envisage substantial savings in energy efficiency over the next 15 to 20 years, with savings in total energy efficiency of about 60 million tons of oil equivalent per year by 2030.

The GMS countries expect their needs Of energy will double or triple over the next 15 years and increased energy efficiency will provide a public-private partnership to reduce unsustainable reliance on high-carbon fuels.
