Equality for Inegalitarians synopsis

This book presents a new and compelling account of the justice of distribution and its relation to its choice. In contrast to those in charge of luck, who treat the differences they have not brought in people's circumstances as sources of inequitable inequalities to be overcome, Cher sees these differences as widespread and unavoidable manifestations of the human condition.

We call for an original calculation of what makes us morally equal, and argue that our interest in successfully negotiating ever-changing emergencies is more fundamental than our interest in achieving any more specific goals. He also argues that the state's commitment to promoting this interest supports an initial version of the view that what matters to other resources, resources and secondary opportunities is that everyone has just enough.

The book opens up a variety of new questions, offering a unique new perspective to the scholars of political theory and philosophy, and to those interested in distributive justice and fair equality.
