Georges Seurat synopsis

This Surrealist Study of George Surat (1859-1891) explores the artist's deep interest in visual perception theories and analyzes its impact on marine landscapes, which are popular in urban and suburban areas. While Sorat is best known for his innovative use of color theory to develop his punctuation style, this book is the first to emphasize the central importance of diverse ideas about the vision of its maritime landscapes, paintings and drawings.

Michelle Foa highlights the importance of the world Hermann von Helmholtz, whose work in physiology in the vision of the artist approach directly. The work of Siurat is a long-term investigation into the various forms of visual engagement with the world and in the various mental states that can be produced by visual experiments.

Foua's analysis also highlights the exploration of the continual exploration of old and new forms of illusion in art. This beautifully illustrated book contains more than 140 paintings and drawings as a key reference in Surat.
