This book argues that India's strategic view of the world on which its nationalsecuritypolicy is based stems from a historical and cultural perspective. Based on India's understanding as a "civilization state" with a long history, this evolving strategic approach deals with security from a global point of view, not a national perspective that usually focuses on the survival of the nation-state.
