Intuition in Judgment and Decision Making synopsis

The main objective of this volume is to introduce the learning perspective into the discussion of intuition in judgment and decision-making. The book collects recent work on intuitive decision-making that goes beyond the current predominant exploratory treatment perspective.

However, this does not mean that the book will strongly oppose this view. The unique perspective of this book will help link these different concepts of intuition together and develop an integrative approach to psychological understanding of intuition in judgment and decision-making.

Accordingly, some chapters reflect previous research from an exploratory treatment perspective in light of a new learning perspective. This book provides a representative overview of what we currently know about intuition in judgment and decision-making.

The authors present the latest theoretical developments, integrative frameworks, and recent reviews of research in the laboratory and in the field. In addition, some chapters deal with applied topics.

Intuition in judgment and decision-making is aimed not only at the interest of students and researchers in psychology, but also at scholars from neighboring social and behavioral sciences such as economics, sociology, political science, and neurosciences.
