Lizard Ecology synopsis

In a rich set of implications for all areas of ecology, leading ecologists in the orchid field demonstrate the usefulness of the approach of population evolution in understanding the evolution of morphology, physiology, behavior and history of life. The lizards, valued in terms of their field-testing capacity, were the subject of cross-fertilization experiments and manipulation of available resources, habitat structure, population density and entire sections of the food webs.

Such experiments quickly rebuild environmental theories because they apply to all living organisms. As evidence of historical and experiential research and as an invitation to philosophical participation, this volume will join its predecessors - Lizard Ecology: A Symposium (Missouri, 1967) and Lizard Ecology: Studies in a Object organism (Harvard, 1983).

Lizard Ecology contains articles on reproductive ecology (Arthur E. Dunham, Lin Schwarzkopf, Peter H.

Niewiarowski, Karen Overall and Barry Sinervo) and Behavioral Behavioral Science (A. Stanley Rand, William E.

Cooper, Jr., Emulia P. Martins, Craig Guyer, and C.

Michael Bull), ecological evolution (Raymond B. Huey, Jean Clubbert et al., Donald B.

Miles, and Theodore Garland, Jr.), and community and community ecology (Ted Case, Robin M. Andrews S.

Joseph Wright, Craig D. James, and Jonathan B.

Losos). Originally published in 1994.
