Maraca The Biodiversity and Environment of an Amazonian Rainforest synopsis
Some tropical ecosystems have undergone extensive interdisciplinary investigations, such as those conducted on the island of Elha de Maraca, a river island in the Brazilian Amazon. This diverse and diverse environmental reserve, in the state of Ruraima in the far north of Brazil, includes environments and habitats ranging from rainforests and semi-arid forests to natural savannas, lakes, rivers and palm marshes.
These studies have been subjected to an in-depth international scientific study whose primary objective was to conduct one of the most detailed ecological surveys ever conducted in the Amazon. The results of this vast collection of research, involving the collaborative field work of about 200 workers, cover reserve geology, geomorphology, botany, zoology, physiology, soil, ecology, ecology and historical human occupation.
It has been carefully collected in this volume in a way that not only provides a coherent and scientific picture of a unique and stunning environment, but is also an important and lasting reference source for a wide range of disciplines in the Amazon environment. This book is a timely reminder of the critical importance of our understanding of the components of rainforests and their interrelationship, as it appears at a time when there is a strong interest in this highly threatened ecosystem.
