Left and right, fascism united anti-bourgeois, non-Liberian patriotic and revolutionary trade unionist ideology, each joining to reflect the political culture inherited from France in the eighteenth century. Since the first incident, Sternhell's argument has raised strong feelings among people who wish to forget the years of Vichy, whose subjects attracted a huge public interest in 1994, when Paul Taufier was convicted for crimes against humanity and a new biography verified from President Mitterrand Vichy's contacts.
