Evidence-Based Clinical Practice (EBCP) is the informed, frank, and judicious use of the best current external evidence in patient care decision-making. In neuroscience, practice has shifted from a rich descriptive system to one of increasingly diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.

The three editors of this important volume are associated with their passion for evidence-based clinical practice in clinical neuroscience, which is associated with a common historical landmark at the University of Western Ontario (UWO), London, Ontario Canada and directly influenced evidence-based medicine from McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario Kananda.
The book was organized into three sections: the basics of evidence-based clinical practice, with an introduction to the subject, a chapter on the evolution of the evidence hierarchy, and a separate chapter on guidelines for assessing the quality of evidence and rating recommendation strength. Section II, Neurology, provides an overview of evidence-based care in ten of the most common areas of neurological practice.
