Revenue Generation Strategies synopsis
One of the most important issues facing colleges and universities today is achieving successful financial viability by expanding sources of revenue. Increasing operating costs, along with relying on traditional student tuition fees, government support, and philanthropy, is a challenge for universities. One of the ways in which management leaders and faculty members face this challenge is to create additional sources of income from various other sources such as: * Continuing Education, * Credit and non-credit certificates, * Academic degree and promotion completion programs, * Study abroad, * The local and international campus branch University, * distance education, * ancillary services, * technology transfer, * partnerships or alliances with other organizations.
These types of activities, previously considered secondary projects, are now an integral part of permanent and responsible financial strategic planning. This study examines a wide range of additional income options and opportunities, as well as examples of restructuring the financial planning scheme.
Although the value of traditional university education is not invalidated, these new revenue streams actually increase institutional effectiveness. This is the first issue of volume 41 of the Jossey-Bass ASHE series of higher education. Each study is the final analysis of the difficult issue of higher education, based on a comprehensive research of relevant literature and institutional experiences.
Topics are identified through a national survey. Leading practitioners and scholars are then commissioned to write reports, with experts providing critical reviews of each manuscript before it is published..
