Stewart L. Udall synopsis

Stuart was to. Udall (1920-2010), as a member of the Congress, and Kozira of the Interior in the cabinets of Kennedy and Johnson (1961-1969), a distinguished public servant and one of the leading environmental leaders in the United States.

History. This book, Udal's first biography, presents his work to a new generation of Americans interested in the environment.

The author traces the influences on Udal's journey, and develops his views on conservation, its setbacks and its victories. In addition to his efforts to preserve wildlife and protect the planet, Odal called for reforming the system of seniority in Congress, producing and testing nuclear weapons, promoting co-existence with the Soviet Union, and helping oppressed peoples in emerging countries.

Odell was inspired by his visionary vision by his leading Mormon ancestors who helped settle in the Upper Plateau of Arizona, where he first linked the natural world.
