Surveying synopsis

Modern surveying is rapidly changing due to the availability of electronically controlled tools, the widespread adoption of the Global Positioning System (GPS) and the spread of GIS / LIS. However, the underlying principles of these new technologies remain static.

In the tenth edition of this text, Frank Moffett and John Busler investigate the appropriate balance between teaching students the basic principles of the survey and informing them of technological developments that have changed the field. The new edition of this classic work completely updated a lot of the blogging format and original content.

By removing a lot of old information, authors have been able to add whole new chapters on GPS and GIS. Throughout the text, emphasis is placed on NAD 83 on NAD 27 where the new predicate is used more frequently.

Authors familiar with earlier versions of this educational book will clearly understand its precise explanation of the topics. Any shortcuts in the material presentation are taken from the time the concept is presented by exploring it in practical examples.

The tradition of the book has been preserved in coverage of the survey and geodetic survey, making it the most comprehensive introductory text on the market survey.
