Temple, Exile and Identity in 1 Peter synopsis

"The Temple, Exile and Identity in 1 Peter" will generate a new and perhaps new understanding of the main themes of Peter 1, which include questions of identity, suffering, hope, holiness and judgment. Mbuvi explores Temple images in a letter "Peter 1" and focuses on the use of ethnic language in shaping the new identity of the Petrine community.

It is alleged that the pictures of the temple at Peter 1 pay a full letter. Peter 1 associates the identity of the community with the temple directly by describing it in terms reminiscent of the structure of the temple. Community members call "living stones" and craft a picture that has been classified as "the temple of society".

This concern with the temple distinguishes the eschatological restoration in the Second Temple period with its emphasis on the construction of the Ecclesiastical Temple. The restoration of Israel would also have the hope of restoring Israel's scattered confluence, of transforming or destroying the United Nations, and of establishing the universal covenant of God, all reflected in the letter of the letter.
