The Civil Wars in Chile synopsis

This sociological study of the causes, consequences and historical implications of the civil wars of the mid and late nineteenth century argues that Chile is a failed bourgeois revolution fought by rival sectors of the ruling class in Chile. Indeed, he concludes that, in general, class conflicts, but also internal ones within thought, can not be historically decisive, especially in transitional moments. Originally published in 1984.
