The Divided World synopsis

Given a critical view of the eminent international principle, Randall Williams shows us how the concept of human rights - which is often taken for granted as a force for good in the world - is directly in line with American imperialist goals. Quoting the international nations of W.

E. Bo Bois, Frantz Fanon and, more recently, M.

Jacqui Alexander and China Mi u00e9ville, Williams insists on the detriment of human rights with the ferocity of colonial modernity. Despite a focus on international human rights since the Second World War, Williams points out that the human rights discourse has consistently reinforced the concerns of the rising global power of the United States.

He explains how the alignment of human rights with the interests of American expansion is not a matter of direct control or conspiracy. It is the result of a consensus on human rights created by post-war international institutions and discussions, from the United Nations to the United Nations.

Law. Williams is investigating prominent cases including Amnesty International, Nelson Mandela, the LGBT Commission, Abu Ghraib, and Guant u00e1namo, as well as providing readings of works such as Hotel Rwanda, Cach u00e9, and Death and Maiden, which have put radical criticism of political violence .

He argues that the strongest contradictions in international human rights discourse come within the framework of anti-colonial criticism of racial violence. To that end, the divided world is examining how to mobilize international human rights policy ultimately to manage violence by limiting the access of its victims to justice.
