The Irish Revolution 1912 25 synopsis
We enter the years of celebration that focused on the centenary of the Easter High. This famous designer history generously looks back and forth from the Ascending and reviews the entire Irish Revolution period.
From the Ulster crisis of 1912, the turbulent events of the following years follow the final report of the Boundary Commission in 1925, which settled on the border between the Free Ireland and Northern Ireland. Of course, the 1916 Easter is the central event.
Often seen as a major event, but it was not. It was my conversion, however.
Irish nationalism has been an effective force since the 1870s, but its rise and consequences have increased risks to new heights that were previously unknown. The greater the risk raised by national Ireland, the greater the likelihood that trade unionists will be absorbed in Ulster, so that the Republicans will move and divide side by side.
This is one of the tragic paradoxes of the whole story. Ireland that came out of the Revolution period is Ireland which we are all very familiar with.
The series of events, which are clearly described in this book and are generously illustrated with pictures and maps, have made the island that we know.
