The Nobility of the Election of Bayeux, 1463 1666 synopsis
Rebuilding the collective experience of the whole nobility Over the course of more than two centuries, James Wood finds the current theories about modern modern noble nobility inadequate. The focus on social and economic structures and changes analyzes the composition and way of life of all nobles - poor, prosperous, mysterious and distinct - who lived in the election of Bayou between the mid-15th and mid-17th centuries.
Professor Wood combines the regional historical perspective with the quantitative methods of social history, and demonstrates the broader significance of his results in the general historical interpretations of the nobles and in early modern France as well. Originally published in 1980.
