In his 1969 publication, he replaced "Russian pronunciation" by Trophimov and Jones. The book provides a clear outline of the necessary general theory of sound and the system of transcription and contains an accurate description of how the sounds of the Russian language are expressed and how they are affected by neighboring voices.
The fundamentals of the Russian ringtone are described and there is a separation of the passages of practice in Russian pronunciation where the writing contains acoustic accents for both tone and stress. Russian text and English translation are provided for corridors.
Throughout the book, constant attention is paid to learner problems and advice provided to master the sounds.
