Underprivileged School Children and the Assault on Dignity synopsis

Every day, children living in low-income societies have no choice but to grow up in an atmosphere where they are subjected to numerous and endless attacks on their sense of dignity. This volume applies the theoretical and historical perspectives of thinking through the realities of increasingly crowded life in economically marginalized societies. Examples of the curriculum include the challenges facing low-income students in the United States today while trying to learn.

Systematic challenges are analyzed as material texts that emerge from living experiences of students in the economically deactivated neighborhoods where schools are located, and the dynamics of schools and classrooms themselves. Attention is also given to teachers and students who oppose these forces in an effort to restore sound, identity and dignity..
