Vorticity and Turbulence synopsis

This book presents an introduction to the theory of fluid turbulence based on the representation of flow through its turbulent field. It has been understood for a long time, at least in the case of non-pressure flow, that the vortex representation is natural and physically transparent, but the evolution of the disorder theory in this representation was slow.

The pioneering work of Onsager, Joyce, and Montgomery on the statistical mechanics of two-dimensional vortex systems has only recently been performed on a solid mathematical basis, and the theory of three-dimensional theory remains controversial and even controversial. The first three chapters of the book contain a reasonable standard of homogeneous disturbances (the simplest case); a quick review of fluid mechanics follows a summary of Fourier's theory (more detailed in fluid mechanics) and a summary of Kolmogoroff's theory of self-field, Whirlpool.

The probability that the inertial spectrum is the equilibrium spectrum is raised.
