XploRe An Interactive Statistical Computing Environment synopsis
This book describes a statistical interactive computing environment called 1 XploRe. As the name implies, support for exploratory statistical analysis is provided through a variety of computational tools. XploRe is a matrix-oriented statistical language with a comprehensive set of basic statistical processes that provide highly interactive graphics, as well as a user-programmed scripting environment; this system provides robust booting procedures for effective analysis of high-dimensional data.
Its high dynamic graphics capabilities make it possible to build student-level front ends to teach basic elements of statistics. Quick Keys make the computing environment easy to use for statistical analysis. The main objective of this book is to demonstrate how XploRe can be used as an efficient computing environment for a large number of statistical tasks.
Computing functions that we consider to be between the manipulation of the basic data matrix and the dynamic allocation of graphs and dynamic compatibility of high-dimensional statistical models. XploRe is similar to other statistical languages and provides an interactive help system that can be extended to include user-written algorithms.
The language is intuitive and can be read with access to other systems, without much difficulty, to produce the examples presented here and use them as a basis for further investigation.
