Respect for authors and rights holders

BookEpub is a catalogue and discovery service. Book texts, cover artwork, photographs, trademarks and third-party descriptions are subject to the rights of their respective owners. We do not claim ownership of a book because its metadata appears here. Attribution identifies a source; it is not itself permission to reproduce a protected work.

An Internet Archive capture establishes that material was captured at a particular time. It does not grant a republication licence. Translation, paraphrasing or repeated translation does not by itself make protected material free to reuse. Nor does the presence of a public API imply that every field or image is free of restrictions.

Material on the site

Edition records can include source-attributed descriptions, covers and author information. Where an image comes from Wikimedia or another licensed source, the displayed credit and source link should be checked for the applicable licence and attribution conditions. Default book covers and author silhouettes are illustrative placeholders, not reproductions of a real edition or verified portraits.

BookEpub does not host full ebook files. External reading, borrowing or file links remain subject to the provider’s rights and terms. If you believe a BookEpub page, image, description, attribution or external link infringes your rights, report the specific material so it can be assessed.

Information to include in a report

Send a message through the copyright contact channel with:

1. Your name, a working reply address and whether you are the rights holder or an authorised representative.
2. The work or image concerned and enough information to identify the right you hold.
3. The exact BookEpub page URL and, for an image or link, the specific image or destination URL where possible.
4. An explanation of the problem, including whether it concerns reproduction, a missing credit, a licence condition or an external destination.
5. The action requested and any evidence or authoritative source that helps us check the claim.

Please provide accurate information and only the personal information necessary for the report. Do not send passwords, unrelated documents or sensitive information about another person. If a particular legal notice procedure applies, include any additional information it requires. This contact procedure does not claim that BookEpub is registered as a US DMCA agent or entitled to any specific legal safe harbour.

Review and action

We review identifiable reports and may remove or restrict material while a credible concern is assessed. We may ask for clarification, correct attribution, replace an image, remove an extract or disable an external link as appropriate. We do not promise an outcome or a legal determination before reviewing the facts. A conflicting claim or restoration request should identify the material and explain the basis for the request.

Reuse of BookEpub material

You are welcome to link to a catalogue page. Reuse of third-party material requires compliance with the relevant rights and licences, independently of BookEpub. For permission to reproduce substantial portions of BookEpub’s own writing or presentation, contact the publisher.
